New Principal reviews functioning of GDC Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, May 19: After Joining the College post Transfer, Principal Government Degree College Udhampur, Prof. Romesh Kumar Gupta, accompanied by the senior staff of the College, today reviewed the working of different Departments of the College and interacted with the Heads and the members of the staff.
He took stock of the ongoing activities and gave necessary instructions as required. He assured all the Heads and members of the staff of full support and help in the interest of the students and the department.
The Principal inspected PG Departments of English, Hindi and Chemistry and interacted with the staff and the students. He stressed on evolving a vibrant academic environment along with co-curricular activities.
He also visited the library to get the update about the stock of books, journals, magazines, and newspapers as also the status of the Automation of the library. He instructed the librarian and the staff to expedite the work and make the library a complete house of information and a resource centre to benefit the students.
Besides this, the principal was also welcomed and greeted in the college by the volunteers of NSS in presence of the NSS Program officers Dr. Ajay Sharma and Dr. Rippy Bawa.
Principal interacted with the IQAC Convener and the members regarding the status of the submission of the Self Study Report (SSR) for the third cycle of the NAAC accreditation. After getting a brief from Prof Gurvinder Raj Verma, Convener IQAC, he instructed those present to gear up for the submission of SSR in time. He assured the IQAC of every kind of help and support needed for the smooth functioning.
The principal was accompanied by senior staff Viz. Prof. Babu Lal Thakur, Prof. Romesh Kumar Arti Prof. Kamal Kishore and Prof Gurvinder Raj Verma and Dr Naresh Sharma.
