Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 19: Paddar Welfare Front (PWF), a regd organization, working for welfare of marginalized sections and development of remote areas, today organized a function at their Jammu office and honoured the senior AAP leader and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh for his contributions in political sphere of J&K. The function was organized under the Chairmanship of Mohinder Singh Rana, President of Paddar Welfare Front (PWF) with active support and participation of members of the organizing committee including Vinod Kumar, Anil Parihar, Karan Singh, Anshu Rani, Naina Devi, Sapna Kumari besides others.
Mohinder Singh Rana said that PWF was running free coaching classes for poor students and those belonging to remote and far-flung areas. He said that over a dozen teachers had been engaged for the purpose and free books were also being provided to the poor and needy. He further apprised the AAP leader about the cutting and tailoring centres opened by the said organization so as to impart vocational training to the desiring candidates hailing from backward areas and those belonging to poor families. Mr. Mohinder said that he was greatly inspired with the working of Mr. Harsh Dev as a legislator, as a Minister and as an opposition leader. He said that thousands of schools opened by Harsh Dev Singh during his tenure as Education Minister had paved the way for diversification of education in the rural areas thereby benefitting thousands and thousands of remote area students who otherwise were bereft of facilities of education. He said that Harsh Dev was the lone crusader fighting for the cause of rural poor, landless and other deprived sections and needed to be supported by all saner elements for the ultimate good of the people at large.
Harsh Dev re-iterated his pledge to continue his struggle for the upliftment of poor, downtrodden and other weaker sections of society. He said that the soul of India lives in villages and it was imperative that all contributed their might for the development of rural areas and teeming millions residing in the villages. He thanked the members of PWF for their moral support and encouragement.
