Live streaming of release of 11th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme held at Jammu

JAMMU, May 31: A Programme for viewing live streaming of release of 11th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh was arranged by Directorate of AP & FW Jammu at Baba Jitto Kisan Kendra Jammu, here today. The programme was organized under overall guidance of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS)/ Financial Commissioner (FC) Agriculture Production Department (APD), JK UT, Atul Dulloo and was presided over by Director Agriculture Jammu, Sh K. K. Sharma.
Joint Director of Agriculture (Inputs), A. S. Reen, JD (Extension), Subash Chander Sharma JD (Marketing), Mahesh Verma, all sectoral heads and officers of Directorate of Agriculture Jammu besides large number of farmers of Jammu Division participated in the programme.
In line with the government's continued commitment and resolve to empower grassroots-level farmers, an amount of more than Rs 21,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families was transferred digitally. Under the PM-KISAN scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal four-monthly installments of Rs 2,000 each. The fund is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. In this scheme, Samman Rashi of over Rs 1.82 lakh crore has been transferred to farmer families so far.
As part of a national event 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan', Prime Minister also interacted with beneficiaries of 16 welfare schemes and programmes through video conferencing.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture Jammu outlined that purpose of PM KISAN Scheme is to provide respect to the Anadata of this nation in the shape of financial assistance. He said that Department is working towards achieving 100% Adhaar based e-KYC verification of all farmers under PM KISAN. He also encouraged the farmers to come forward and avail benefit under various social sector schemes like PM Kisan Man Dhan Yojna, E-Shram, Kisan Credit Card etc, while focusing on diversified farming for additional source of income. Director Agriculture informed that about 5.70 lakhs farmers of Jammu Division also received the benefit under this scheme today directly in their accounts.
Similar functions were held on this occasion in all districts of Jammu Division at District, Tehsil, Block, and Panchayat levels where large number of farmers, DDC, BDC members, Sarpanchs and Panchs watched the live streaming of the PM-KISAN.
