Jammu, May 31: In a PIL seeking direction to JKCA immediately start the construction of International Stadium at Bajalta Jammu soon after the release of already sanctioned amount of Rs.100.00 Crores, A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court at Jammu Wing comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi observed that 11. The construction of a Stadium for any purpose is a policy decision to be taken either by the Government or the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports or the relevant stakeholders, such as, BCCI and JKCA in the instant case. In the event, any of those authorities are interested in constructing a cricket stadium of international repute, it is open for them to go ahead and to arrange necessary infrastructure including land and funds and to seek help from any other concern authorities as it may deem fit or may arrange finds in the form of subsidy or otherwise from any institution or the government body and court in exercise of its extraordinary jurisdiction does not find itself competent enough to decide whether any international cricket stadium is necessary and required to be constructed in Jammu.
