Shiv Sena raises demand for arms licenses to minorities in Kashmiri
5/31/2022 11:28:43 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 31: The leaders of Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit strongly condemned the killing of Ranjani Bala, a resident of Jammu Samba district, a government high school teacher in Gopalpura, Kulgam, by fearless terrorists, calling it a cowardly act of terrorists. Party state chief Manish Sahni has warned terrorist organizations operating in Kashmir to desist from their nefarious antics. In a press conference held at the party's state office today, state chief Manish Sahni said that the killing of innocent civilians by terrorists is intolerable. Sahni said that the nefarious acts of terrorists are increasing day by day. All the assurances of security given by the Central and State Governments are proving to be a complete failure. State chief Sahni has raised the demand for arms license to unarmed civilians fighting terrorism in the Kashmir Valley.
The Shiv Sena president said that the way in which hybrid terrorists are resorting to targeted killings of civilians mostly with pistols now. The licensed weapons in the hands of innocent, is the only way out for them to protect themselves and their families.
Sahni further said that there is also urgent need for strengthening the Village Security Committees across the Valley besides increasing the number of Civil Defence personnel and Special Police Officers (SPOs) in rural as well as urban areas of the Valley so that the security apparatus involved in protecting the citizens in Kashmir gets strong enough to be successful in eliminating terrorism once for all. He said that by increasing the number of weapons and SPOs to the civilians, it will be easier for the security forces to deal with the terrorist attacks which seem to have become a big challenge as of today.
The Shiv Sena leader reiterated that the ongoing targeted killings in Kashmir have created panic among the minorities as well as the majority community and the only solution now is to strengthen the civilians by providing them weapons.
Sahni said that Shiv Sainiks, including party Samba President Neelam Samyal, went to the residence of late Rajni Bala to express their condolences. On this occasion, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, prabhari Ashwani Prabhakar, Vice President Natwar Lal, President Kamgar wing Raj Singh, Mangu Ram, Narendra Singh, Moni Dutta were present.
