| Brucellosis Vaccination drive launched in Kishtwar | | | | KISHTWAR, June 3: The Department of Animal Husbandry Kishtwar today started Brucellosis Vaccination under National Animal Disease Control Programs (NADCP) across the District. The Brucellosis vaccination has been introduced by Govt. of India for the very first time in UT of Jammu & Kashmir, in which female calves under the age of 4 to 8 months are to be vaccinated (prophylactic) which will grant a lifelong immunity against the disease. The vaccination program was kick started at village Lachdyaram by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kishtwar Dr. S. K. Sen. He requested the Animal breeders to get all the female calves of age group 4-8 months vaccinated and directed the staff deployed for vaccination to follow the SOPs during vaccination and ensure proper disposal of the used material afterwards as the disease is of Zoonotic importance. |
