Pulwama, June 3: Lift Irrigation scheme at Dogripora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has been dysfunctional for the past two years.
Residents of the area while talking to Early Times that the officials of the Mechanical and Irrigation departments have been giving one excuse after another for the past two years and have spent lakhs on papers to make this scheme functional. “We appeal to the administration to check how much money has been spent to make this pump station work. A probe should be ordered whether the money has been spent to make this scheme functional. “We have been unable to sow paddy for the past two years. This year we were told that water will be lifted and provided to us but claims of the officials have proven to be a hoax,” the locals added. |
