World Bicycle Day celebrated by NSS GGM Science College

JAMMU, June 3: NSS GGM Science College under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan celebrated World Bicycle Day under the aegis of Azadi ka amrut Mahotsav as directed by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. NSS volunteers participated in the Jammu Smart City Cycle 4 Change Fit India Freedom Rider Cycle Rally. The rally was inaugurated by the Commisioner JMC, Mayor and Deputy Mayor. The rally started from Kala Kendra to Parade to Satwari and back; covering approx. 6 to 7 km. The aim is to encourage and motivate people to take up and adopt Cycling in their daily lives for physical fitness activities and get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc. By adopting Cycling by common citizens will also facilitate in reducing carbon footprints. Through the Observance of World Bicycle Day, citizens will be given call to make a resolve to include physical activity at least 30 minutes daily in their lives"FITNESS KI DOSE AADHA GHANTA ROZ". The volunteers raised slogans to make the general public aware Save the planet Ride a cycle, Be fit Go green, Ride freelive Fit, Burn fat not oil adopt a bicycle. The Principal appreciated the efforts of NSS team PO and Volunteers.
