Intellectual property rights workshop conducted at SKUAST-J | | | Jammu, July 14: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu in association with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Government of India, Nagpur, Maharashtra organized online workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) – Patents and Designs Filing Process on webex digital platform. The workshop was conducted by Pooja Vishal Maulikar, Examiner of Patents and Designs, RGNIIPM, Nagpur. Maulikar in her talk gave an overview of IP offices, trainings imparted by RGNIIPM, types of intellectual property, patent specification structure and documents required for patent filing. She also discussed about basic fee structure, patent grant procedure and registration of designs. Earlier, Prof. Pardeep Wali, Director Research in his opening remarks highlighted the importance of filing patents and protecting innovations. He also threw light on the different initiatives taken in this direction under the guidance of Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor. He further added that steps are being taken to strengthen the IPR cell of the University for facilitating the scientists and scholars in filing patents. The workshop was attended by more than 120 participants comprising of faculty members and students from SKUAST Jammu and neighbouring institutions and coordinated by Prof. R. K. Salgora, Coordinator, School of Biotechnology and Prof. Manish Kumar Sharma, Head, Division of Statistics and Computer Science. |
