GLDM GDC, Hiranagar organises programme on Bharatanatyam

HIRANAGAR, Apr 6: GLDM GDC Hiranagar in Collaboration with SPIC MACAY organised a Lecture Demonstration on Bharatanatyam at GLDM GDC Hiranagar, which received appreciation applause and overwhelming response from the audience.
The expert of the workshop was Vidushi Bragha Bessell, who is an eminent Bharatanatyam dancer from Tamil Nadu. She started her learning at a very young age with Guru Late Sri. Mangudi Durairaj Iyer and she took further training under Guru Chidambaram. P.S. Kunjithapadam Pillai. She then pursued her learning under Padma Shri. Sri. Adyar K. Lakshman and learnt the nuances of Abhinaya from Padma Bhushan Kalanidhi Narayanan. Bragha has had the fortune to be a part of many productions of her Gurus.
Her Nritta as well as Abhinaya earned wide appreciation from students, teachers and connoisseurs. Bragha has given numerous performances in India and overseas. She has worked as a visiting faculty in Kalakshetra, teaching Abhinaya for over 15 years.
She is regularly invited by colleges and universities all over the country to conduct Abhinaya workshops. She has received many titles and awards including Nritya Kalanidhi by Madras Music Academy, Acharya Kala Bharathi from Sri. Bharat Kalachar, Ananya Puraskar Award from Ananya Trust and Acharya Ratnakara from Cleveland Aradhana. She spread remarkable reverberation in the college by his mesmerizing performance. She was accompanied by Nandini Sharma on Vocal, Sri Sudarsini on Nattuvangam, Sri MS Kanna on Violin and Sri Kiran Paion Mridangam.
Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of GLDM GDC, Hiranagar was the chief guest on the occasions. She expressed gratitude to the artists and the SPIC MCAY in collaborating with the college in organizing such a wonderful event. She also expressed a deep sense of gratitude to the artists and the organizing team in providing national exposure to thestudents of the college. Those who attended the event were Dr. Sujat Khan, Prof. Gurdyal, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Dr. DavinderKour, Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Prof. Manjot Singh, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Prof. Bhawna Jamwal. Dr. Chinky Sangral, Prof. Kiran Thapa, Prof. Anju Rani, Dr. Neeru Devi, Dr Jyoti Rani, Dr. Arun Kumar, Vikram Jamwal, Dr. Mukesh, Dr. Bhupinder Singh, Dr. Arun Boseand Dr. Ravinder Singh from Govt. GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar. The organising team of the event was Prof. Sujat Khan, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. JyotiRani, Assistant Prof. Hindi, Prof. Neha Bhagat, HOD EVS, Vikram Jamwal, HOD Physical Education and Sports and Dr. Bharat Bhushan, HOD Music and State Coordinator of SPIC MACAY.
At the end of the programmeProf. Sujat Khan, IQAC Coordinator ofthe college presented the formal vote of thanks.
