Exorbitant bus fee leaves parents high and dry | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 6: Parents are up in arms against the private schools for charging transportation fees according to their whims and wishes. A group of parents while talking to Early Times said, “Private schools fix bus fees as per their will and make us pay through our nose.” They said, “The fee is not charged as per the distance. It’s charged according to the stature of the school. The bigger the school the more is the fee. Parents are left with no other option other than to pay.” Pertinently, private schools have been in the news since the day new session has commenced as the parents are alleging that books and uniforms are being sold at exorbitant rates and they are being asked to pay hefty amounts at the pretext of paying the annual charges. Parents said, “The government should fix the transportation fee according to the distance rather than allowing the schools to loot them in the name of providing bus service.” They said, “The Education Department should intervene and set things right. |
