Fed up with atrocities by Pak Army, pro-India protests erupt in PoJK

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 14: Amid unprecedented economic crises in their country, residents of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to save the lives of their families from starvation.
PoJK residents have made these appeals through social media after troops of the Pakistan army looted their homes and shops.
Save us from the cruelty of the Pakistani military. We have no choice but to join India, implores shopkeeper Naveed Ahmed son of Ghulam Hassan from POJK.
A video of Naveed Ahmed has gone viral on social media in which he was seen highlighting the conditions of the residents of PoJK.
The helpless PoJK resident pointed out that the soldiers of the Pakistan Army have occupied his land, stolen his money, damaged his shop, entered his house without permission, and insulted the women of the family.
“We are living in our village for the last 200 years but now soldiers of the Pakistan army have occupied our land and shops”, he said.
Naveed Ahmed is not an isolated case, social media is flooded with videos of PoJK residents shouting slogans, and complaining against the Pakistan government for unbearable inflation.
Reports said that atrocities on people have snowballed into anti-Pakistan and pro-India protests in PoJK and the Gilgit Baltistan regions.
Videos from these Pakistani-held regions show that protests have continued unabated since December 2022. In the latest protests, people blocked highways and burnt tyres. The protests, which are spreading to different parts of the region, have now been reported from Bagh city in PoJK where demonstrators blocked the GT Road.
With a shortage of wheat and rising prices in the country, people in the Pakistan-occupied regions are even demanding that Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) should be unified with India. Kashmiri activist Dr. Amjad Ayub Mirza says that people from all sections of society have come together to demand a merger with India.
