JAMMU, Apr 14: Aam Aadmi Party Jammu and Kashmir unit today paid glowing tributes to the architect of Constitution and Bharat Ratna, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, on his 132nd birth anniversary during a function held at Kunjwani area of Jammu. On the occasion, Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman AAP J&K for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, and DDC Member Suchetgarh; Yashpal Kundal, Chairman ST, SC OBC Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jammu and Kashmir and former minister, Surinder Singh Shingari, Women's Wing President Namrata Sharma, Subhash Sharma, Amit Kapoor, Ravi Shastri, Sham Lal Bhagat, Advocate Gaurav Sarangal, Pratap Singh Jamwal, Ch Jagdeep Singh profusely garlanded the portrait of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb and paid rich tributes to him. The program was organized by Rakesh Kundal, Block President, Jagjit Singh Salathia Block President and Bal Krishna Block President. Paying glowing tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Tony remembered the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar in framing the Indian Constitution wherein the provision for the welfare and the upliftment of poor, downtrodden and each and every section irrespective of caste, creed colour or religion was kept and approved by the Constituent Assembly of the country. He described Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar as one of the towering personalities of modern India who will always be remembered for his outstanding contribution for the upliftment of the downtrodden people in this country. Tony also greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi which is also celebrated as the formation of Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He appealed to the people to follow the path shown by Guru Gobind Singh ji. He appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood, with traditional fervour and gaiety, and strengthen the secular and social fabric of the union territory at all costs. Yashpal Kundal said that Dr Ambedkar was a great reformer who dedicated his entire life for the welfare of weaker sections and his contribution in that regard was exceptional. "There is greater need for collectively working for welfare of weaker sections of the society so that social inequality could be minimized," he maintained. The senior AAP leaders said the best tribute to the great leader would be an imbibe spirit of oneness which alone can lead the nation towards peace, progress and prosperity. "The best tribute to Baba Saheb would be to work for carving out a society where opportunities of progress are available to all irrespective of caste, creed, and colour," they added.
