Srinagar, May 30: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a man on the charges of trying to outrage the modesty of a girl student.
According to the sources, accused Saqib Ahmed Dar of Narkura Budgam gave a lift to a girl student in his car earlier this week. The girl was on way to her coaching centre.
“After the girl boarded the vehicle, he tried to outrage her modesty. Somehow the victim saved herself and reported the matter to police,” they added.
Police took the cognizance of the complaint and arrested the accused on Tuesday. “It’s unfortunate that our society is deteriorating with each passing day and such incidents are being reported on a daily basis. The accused should be punished so it serves as a deterrent for others,” said a senior citizen. |
