Early Times Report RAJOURI, May 30: NCC units (SW/SD) of Govt PG College, Rajouri, rallied together for a remarkable initiative called 'Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan,' a cleanliness drive focused on preserving local water bodies. Organized under the esteemed banner of G20, the event received strong support and guidance from Principal Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad, along with Prof. Salma Farooq (NCC Officer Girls Wing) and Mr. Tanveer Ahmad (NCC Officer Boys Wing). The endeavor was carried out under the directions of CO 5 J&K BN NCC Poonch, Narender Bhandari. The program commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of water in sustaining nature and the pivotal role of NCC in maintaining the cleanliness of such water bodies. A grand rally was led by the cadets and NCC officers of both units, chanting powerful slogans such as "Save Water, Save Life" and "No Blue, No Green." The cadets engaged in a thorough cleanup of the local bodies situated in the Dhanore area, diligently collecting a substantial amount of debris, including polythene bags, old rags, fast food wrappers, and juice cans. They also interacted with the public, spreading awareness about the importance of clean water resources for good health. Prof. Salma Farooq and Major Tanveer Ahmed shed light on the current challenges associated with water conservation and emphasized the role and responsibility of NCC in social services. The Principal of the college expressed deep appreciation for the NCC officers of both units and extended heartfelt congratulations to the cadets for successfully accomplishing such a noble mission of cleaning water bodies and raising public awareness about the hazards of water pollution and the need for resource conservation. |
