Early Times Report JAMMU, May 30: Retired Officers Forum, Jammu, in collaboration with AYUSH Health Department, conducted a one-day Health Awareness programme for the elderly. Held at the Scouts & Guides Hall adjacent to the Head Post Office in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, the event aimed to provide valuable health insights and guidance to senior citizens. Under the patronage of I.D. Soni, President of the Forum, the programme addressed the challenges faced by older individuals and emphasized the importance of following medical advice for maintaining fitness. S.C. Rekhi, General Secretary of the Forum, delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for an informative session. Approximately one hundred senior citizens actively participated in the programme, benefiting from the expertise of AYUSH Doctors. The doctors enlightened the attendees about common health issues related to old age, conducted individual consultations, and provided relevant medications to the patients. During the event, S.K. Jain, Vice President, and Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Yoga Therapist, shed light on the significance of Yoga as an integral part of AYUSH. They even demonstrated specific yoga exercises tailored for the elderly, encouraging them to incorporate meditation and yoga into their daily routine for improved well-being. S.C. Rekhi, General Secretary of the Forum, successfully conducted the entire programme, and Prem Gupta, I.G.P. (Retd), delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants. |
