| GDC Sunderbani celebrates World Environment Day | | |  Early Times Report
SUNDERBANI, June 6: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Sunderbani commemorated World Environment Day, 2023, by organizing a series of activities throughout the week. World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5th worldwide, serves as a reminder of the significance of nature and the environment. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the growing threats to our environment due to pollution and climate change.
The students of GDC Sunderbani enthusiastically celebrated the entire week as "Environment Week" and actively participated in a range of activities. On May 27th, the NSS and NCC units, along with the Sports department of the college, organized a marathon from the college to Thanda Pani under the banner of G20. The event aimed to promote fitness and raise awareness about environmental concerns.
The success of the program can be attributed to the active support and involvement of Prof. Beant Singh, Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Prof. Ravinder Kumar, Prof. Sheraz Kousser, and Prof. Rafiq Ahmed Rather. The entire program was conducted under the guidance of college principal, Prof. Minnie Sharma, who ensured its smooth execution.
The week-long activities served as a reminder to everyone about the importance of safeguarding our environment and the need for collective action. By actively participating in these events, the students and staff of GDC Sunderbani demonstrated their commitment to a cleaner and greener future for Mother Earth. |
