Year on, Govt schemes fail to reach family of Udhampur terror attack victim | | | Early Times Report
Mansa (Udhampur), June 6: Family of a martyr Chaggar, who was killed in a grenade blast at Slathia Chowk in Udhampur last year, is living in a miserable condition. Chaggar’s mother and his deaf and dumb brother are living in a house having a temporary tin roof which leaks during the rainy season. They don’t have a LPG cylinder and have to cook their meals on old Chula using fire wood. There is no water connection. Mother and brother of the martyr Chaggar have neither been provided with a house under Prime Minister Awas Yojana, nor have they been provided with a LPG gas connection. Neither bathroom nor a toilet was constructed for them under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The Family of martyr Chaggar, who lost his life in a grenade attack carried out by the terrorists, has not been provided any benefit of the government schemes that are meant for the poor people. After Chaggar was killed in the grenade attack all the big leaders of Udhampur district made a beeline at Mansa village and ensured that they get wide publicity. But one year has passed since Chaggar’s killing and no political leader has come forward to help his poor family. The pathetic plight of the martyr’s family has put a question mark on the tall claims of the government about its reaching out to poor and needy and is taking care of the kith and kin of the victims killed in terror activities. |
