Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: The National Water Colour Painters' Camp, organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), concluded at Tourist Complex, Mansar (Samba, J&K). A valedictory ceremony was held, with a senior artist and columnist on art & culture as the chief guest. OP Sharma, the Founder & Director of JKCCA, was also present on the occasion. Certificates of participation were awarded to the camp participants by the chief guest. During the event, Jang S. Verman emphasized the importance of reviving traditional art forms to their former glory. He highlighted watercolors as a popular medium among artists that has lost some of its prominence due to the introduction of other mediums. The efforts by JKCCA to revive the medium of watercolors were appreciated. OP Sharma, Director of JKCCA, introduced the participating artists and showcased the artworks created during the three-day camp. The artists hailed from different states and union territories of the country, including Sahil Sodhi, Atul Mattu, and Kavi Chouhan from Amritsar (Punjab), Rani Parsad from New Delhi, Pratima Singh from Lucknow (UP), and O P Sharma and Ritika Verma from Jammu (J&K). JKCCA, Jammu, is a prominent Art Centre dedicated to promoting and preserving various art forms. It has organized numerous art exhibitions, cultural events, seminars, music concerts, national art camps, and other activities both within and outside the state. |
