Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: The Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, conducted a review meeting today to discuss the establishment of Industrial Estates in the districts and address land-related issues of the Industries & Commerce Department. During the meeting, the Div Com focused on the progress of land acquisition for industrial estates in Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts, and discussed the challenges faced by stakeholder departments. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa, Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control, Manoj Gupta, and senior officers from SIDCO and SICOP. Deputy Commissioners of Kathua and Samba, along with other concerned officers, joined the meeting through video conferencing. Detailed discussions were held regarding the development of existing and new estates, as well as the resolution of pending issues related to the Industries Department at the district level. The concerned Deputy Commissioners provided updates on the status of each case, noting that most issues have been resolved and the remaining ones will be addressed soon. The Div Com instructed the DCs to collaborate with the Industries Department to resolve pending land issues. Industries/SICOP officials were also directed to maintain regular communication with the DCs and revenue officers to ensure timely coordination in resolving the issues. Furthermore, the Div Com instructed the DCs of Samba, Kathua, Jammu, and Udhampur to demarcate identified lands and hand them over to the Industries and Commerce Department for the establishment of Industrial Estates. The DCs were also tasked with resolving land-related issues concerning approach roads to the sites. Additionally, the Div Com reviewed power supply, water supply, and road infrastructure for the industrial estates, directing the concerned DCs to ensure that all necessary facilities are available for the smooth functioning of the estates. |
