Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra arrangements 2023 discussed | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, June 6: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a meeting in Udhampur to discuss the arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2023 in the district. The meeting was attended by senior officials from various departments, including the Senior Superintendent of Police, Additional District Development Commissioner, and Chief Planning Officer. The meeting focused on various arrangements for the smooth conduct of the yatra. These included setting up lodgement centers, langers (community kitchens), medical facilities, drinking water facilities, provision of electricity, installation of temporary toilets, sanitation, traffic management, security arrangements, control room setup, checking of rates, installation of departmental stalls, deployment of magistrates, coordination committees, emergency response mechanism, and installation of signage boards. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the successful organization of the yatra. Nodal officers were assigned the task of visiting their respective lodgement centers and providing detailed reports on the availability of essential facilities such as electricity, water, clean spaces, and toilets. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was directed to arrange for medical facilities along the Tikri to Chenani stretch on NH-44 and prepare a health plan. The Jal Shakti department was instructed to ensure water supply to all transit locations, while the Power Development Department (PDD) was asked to make necessary arrangements for round-the-clock electricity supply to the lodgement centers and langers. The Municipal Corporation (MC) was tasked with installing pre-fabricated toilets, and nodal officers were responsible for inspecting the toilets and maintaining cleanliness in and around the lodgement centers. The MC was also instructed to prepare a list of sanitation workers to sanitize toilet camps. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic was directed to deploy an adequate number of police personnel at main chowks and congestion points to facilitate smooth movement during the yatra. The SSP Udhampur was tasked with ensuring adequate security arrangements by deploying police personnel, including lady police, at vulnerable locations, lodgement centers, transit camps, and langer sites. The Tourism department was instructed to install signboards at various entry points, and the District Coordinator of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) was asked to prepare for the installation of departmental stalls at designated locations
