Role of teacher in society significant, valuable: Rekha Mahajan

JAMMU, Sept 4: Emphasizing teachers be facilitators and role models for their students, BJP District President Jammu South Rekha Mahajan while celebrating "Teachers Day" here at Gurunanak High School, Kullian in Jammu South. She said that "a promising and visionary educator can play a prominent role in shaping the future of a student. This was stated by Rekha Mahajan while interacting with teachers along with staff members of the school in the esteem presence of District Prabhari Ayodhya Gupta, DDC Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, District General Secretary Akash Chopra, Mandal President Bikram Sandhu, Chairman of Gurunanak high school Darshan lal, Vice President of SC Morcha, Bahadur lal Ex Sarpanch, Ashok Choudhary former vice president and other prominent persons were present in the program. Rekha Mahajan along with other dignitaries felecitated teacher Naresh Kanth and famous Punjabi Bhagti Geet Singer on teachers day.
Rekha Mahajan said that the role of the teacher in a society is significant and valuable having a far-reaching influence on people so it becomes his prime responsibility to uphold the sanctity of his profession by being competent, morally upright, and knowledgeable. Highlighting the vital role played by teachers in shaping the future of upcoming generations, she said that teachers are a very important element of society and deserve high respect for their contribution to transformation of the society.
Prof.Gharu Ram and Ayodhya Gupta said that Teacher's Day is a very special occasion for recognizing and paying tribute to the important role played by teachers and honoring them for their contribution to varied fields of learning and research. They called upon the entire teaching fraternity of Gurunanak High School to put in their best efforts for imparting quality education to the youth besides enthusing high ethos among them so that they could grow as a responsible citizen. A colorful cultural programme was presented by the students on the occasion and later the dignitaries felicitated the teachers for their contribution.
