9/4/2023 10:09:52 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 4: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference will observe 42nd death anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah as 'Day of Unity, Solidarity and Brotherhood'. The Party stands committed to fulfill the vision of great NC leader Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah by defeating the divisive forces who are hell bent to create communal disharmony in Jammu and Kashmir for their petty vested interests.
This was stated by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Jammu while addressing a meeting of party functionaries of Jammu and Samba districts at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here today. The meeting chaired by Rattan Lal Gupta was organized to finalize the arrangements for observing death anniversary of Sheikh Mohd Abdullah on September 8, 2023.
The senior National Conference leader in his address reminded those present in the meeting about the slogan 'Hindu Muslim Sikh Ittihad' coined by the NC's top stature leader Sheikh Mohd Abdullah and said that this slogan is the basic tenet of the party's philosophy that makes it the only secular party in this region. He said that in the existing scenario across the nation especially in J&K, there is a dire need to implement Sheikh Abdullah's slogan of communal harmony in letter and spirit to do away with the communal division and hatred being created by the Bharatiya Janata Party for its petty vote bank interests.
Rattan Lal Gupta asked the party workers and activists to conduct grand programmes on the day of Sheikh Abdullah's death anniversary in order to pay rich tributes to the great leader. He also asked them to take a pledge on this day being observed as 'Day of Unity, Solidarity and Brotherhood' to intensify its fight against the forces dividing the people and promoting hatred.
