JAMMU, Jan 24: In a concerted effort to address the critical issue of road safety, the NSS unit of Government College for Women (GCW) Bhagwati Nagar joined forces with the Road Safety Club, guided by the esteemed principal, Dr. Meeru Abrol. Under her able leadership, a vibrant poster making activity was organized, aiming to raise awareness and foster responsible road behavior among the community, particularly the youth.
Aligned with the upcoming Road Safety Week, an annual event dedicated to advocating for safer roads globally, the initiative seeks to reduce road accidents and instill a heightened sense of vigilance regarding road safety. The creative campaign employs the powerful medium of art to convey the importance of safe road practices.
Expressing her thoughts on the occasion, Dr. Meeru Abrol, principal of GCW Bhagwati Nagar, emphasized the belief in the potency of creativity to convey crucial messages. She stated, "By organizing this poster making activity, we aim to harness the artistic talents of our students to promote road safety awareness within our college community and beyond."
The event, spearheaded by Prof. Anju Bala, NSS Program Officer of the college, and Prof. Poonam Kumari, Convenor of the Road Safety Club, aimed to engage the community, especially the young minds, in spreading the message of responsible road behavior. The goal is to encourage a collective effort in making roads safer for everyone.
"Through this dynamic poster making activity, we aspire to channel the artistic prowess of our students to propagate road safety awareness within our academic enclave and beyond," affirmed NSS Program Officer Anju Bala.
The initiative underscores the commitment of GCW Bhagwati Nagar to instill a sense of responsibility and vigilance regarding road safety, reflecting the broader mission of creating a safer and more aware community. The creative posters crafted by the students serve as impactful tools to communicate the significance of adhering to safe road practices, contributing to a safer environment for all.
