AGENCIES SHIMLA, Jan 24: SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), the renewable arm of SJVN, has sealed a Contract Agreement for the Balance of System (BoS) of a 360 MW Solar Power Project with Solar World Energy Solutions Private Limited, Noida. The agreement encompasses the Operation and Maintenance of the Solar PV Plant for a three-year duration. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance) SJVN, Ajay Singh, CEO, SGEL, and senior officials from both SGEL and Solar World Energy Solutions. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, conveyed that the solar project, developed by SJVN through SGEL, is set to be situated in Bhuj, District Kutch, Gujarat. Secured through an open competitive bidding process conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), the project operates on a Build Own & Operate basis. A Power Purchase Agreement for the project has been signed between SGEL and GUVNL for a duration of 25 years. The project is anticipated to generate 901.87 million units in its first year, with a cumulative energy generation estimated at around 21,244 million units over 25 years. The commissioning of the project is poised to reduce carbon emissions by 1,040,975 tonnes, aligning with the Government of India's mission for a carbon-neutral economy. This initiative further underscores SJVN's commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly energy solutions. |
