Kavinder castigates political parties for questioning Bharat Ratna to late Karpoori Thakur
1/24/2024 10:30:34 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 24: Kavinder Gupta, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed the political parties especially those in the opposition for airing unacceptable comments on conferring of Bharat Ratna Award to the former Chief Minister of Bihar Late Karpoori Thakur posthumously.
Speaking at the meeting held here today, Kavinder Gupta said that Modi Govt has always acknowledged the social services of various political leaders across the spectrum and this time yet again following the past practice it has conferred the Bharat Ratna award on the stalwart who dedicated his whole life for the upliftment and welfare of the downtrodden community. He said that Lt. Karpoori Thakur was an epitome of the best social reformer of his times and his contributions for the nation and its people have been herculean.
The senior BJP leader said that the relevance of the ideology of this great leader in today's scenario can be well adjudged from the fact that the policies and schemes rolled out by the incumbent BJP Govt at the Centre reflect Karpoori Thakur's vision that focussed on the common people especially the underprivileged and the downtrodden.
Kavinder said that acknowledging the services of genuine and deserving was never part of Congress Govt agenda and therefore such happenings seem alien to the Congress and other political parties of the ilk. He said that by questioning the Bharat Ratna award to Late Karpoori Thakur, the concerned political parties stand exposed for claiming to be the saviours of underprivileged. He said fact remains that Congress never wanted such underprivileged communities to get uplifted and therefore it failed to come up with schemes for their benefit during its governance. However, BJP has stood to its commitment. He said that that it was never expected of Congress to stoop to such a low by making the matter of awarding Bharat Ratna to Karpoori Thakur an issue.
