Asst Professors selection: 26% from Jammu, 74% from Kashmir

Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 24: The cryptic silence of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Ministers over discrimination meted out with candidates from Jammu province in selection of Assistant Professors, only signals that its ministers are also part and parcel in furthering this decade long discrimination, end of which was most prominent slogan of BJP, before enjoying cozy chambers of power. The latest selection list of Assistant Professors for the posts of History subject, published by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is another example of discrimination as only 26 percent candidates from Jammu province found place as compared to 74 percent from Kashmir province, which falls in selection list in open merit category. Out of total 34 posts of Assistant Professors in Open category only nine candidates of Jammu get a place while majority are, that is 24 are from Kashmir province, while there is not a single candidate from Ladakh province.
