Jammu, Apr 8: Tightening its noose against corruption, the sleuths of State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Kashmir in a fresh but third case in Disproportionate Assets (DA) Case reported in last year against Sr Assistant ZEO Office Tangdar Mohammad Ashraf Poswal of Shamspora Karnah of district Kupwara registered case after verification of allegations in this regard. According to spokesperson, the verifications conducted by Vigilance Organization Kashmir into allegations of acquisition of disproportionate assets by Mohammad Ashraf Poswal Sr. Assistant ZEO office Tangdhar S/o Noor-ud-din Poswal R/o Shamaspora Karnah revealed that the said public servant has by way of abuse of his official position and by indulging in corrupt practices raised huge assets both movable/ immovable which are disproportionate to his known source of income. "The assets include two palatial houses at Shamspora Tangdhar and one at HMT Zainakote Srinagar, besides Be-nami assets in the shape of vehicles of type Xylo, Alto K-10 and tipper bearing Registration No's JK01P- 9498, JK09A-0565 and JK01S-4637 respectively, besides bank balances in different banks in his own name and other members of his family, spokesperson said. He said that during verifications it was found that assets have been apparently disproportionate to his (suspects) known source of income therefore constitutes offences punishable under section 5(1) (e), r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006. "After obtaining proper search warrants from the designated Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Baramulla, Parveez Ahmad Kachroo, searches have been carried out at the residential houses/ office of the suspect on 08/04/2015 at Srinagar and Karnah, Tangdar simultaneously, with the assistances of District Administration, local Police and Crime Branch Kashmir, he said. A case under FIR No. 22/2015 P/S VOK stands registered against Mohammad Ashraf Poswal Sr Assistant ZEO Office Tangdar and further investigation taken up. |
