Jammu, Apr 8: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Viklang Chattra Trust through its Organizer Satya Pal Saraf regarding better care of old age home, a Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur observed that In terms of order dated 07.08.2014, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu has filed the compliance report wherein it is stated that Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, after completing the exercise, has intimated through Assistant Commissioner (Rev) Jammu vide communication dated 30.03.2015 that the State land measuring 16 kanals falling under Khasra No.256-min (05 kanals 05 marlas) and Khasra No.763-min (10 kanals 15 marlas) situated at village Seri Khurd and Panjgarian, Tehsil Nagrota stand identified. It is further stated in the compliance report that the Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Jammu has written a letter to the Director, Social Welfare, Jammu for authentication and early return as well as placement of indent for transferring the land from one Government Department to another. Division Bench further observed that similarly, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir has also filed his compliance report wherein it is stated that the Deputy Commissioner identified the land and he forwarded the revenue extracts of 16 kanals of shamilat land proposed for the construction of composite Home at Samboora Tehsil Pampore to Financial Commissioner (Revenue) J&K Jammu for transferring the land to Social Welfare Department J&K and the reply is awaited from the concerned quarters. Division Bench granted three weeks' time to Divisional Commissioner J&K to get the reply from the concerned quarters. (JNF) |
