| Irked over refusal of marriage proposal, jilted lover tries to kill girl friend | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 11: A jilted lover reportedly has attempted to kill her girl friend in a remote village in Rajouri district after she requested him to break the relations as her marriage has been fixed with her maternal uncle by her parents.
Police sources, the boy namely Shahdad Khan son of Mohd Ayub Khan of village Bafliaz in Poonch district presently staying at Kheora near Rajouri town was overpowered by the neighbour of the girl when he allegedly attempted to kill the girl. Later the local handed him over to the police, sources said.
They said, "The incident took place on Wednesday in village Pata Thana under the jurisdiction of Darhal police station when the boy was called by the girl (name with held) to request him to break away the relation.
Police sources said that the girl is a first year student in government PG College at Rajouri and developed love affairs with the accused and the accused also had gifted her a mobile phone to be in contact with her.
Quoting family members, police sources said few days ago the parents of girl fixed her marriage and added on Wednesday when she was alone at home she called the boy at her house and returned the mobile to him while requesting him to break relations.
"On her insistence to return the mobile phone and to break the relation, the boy in a fit of anger attempted to kill her first slitting her throat and then to push her head in the tub containing water" they said.
"The girl had received injury on her throat and wound on head and multiple bruise marks on her body due to severe thrashing by the accused, sources added.
However alarm raised by the girl attracted attention of some neighbours who rushed to the house and rescued the girl while overpowering the accused and handed over to the police.
Police taking cognizance have registered a case under FIR NO 50/16 under section attempt to murder
Concerned SHO confirmed the case and said that Police have booked the accused in an attempt to murder case and started investigation while statement of the girl couldn't be recorded due to her throat injury. |
