Srinagar, Aug 11: A man has alleged encroachment of his land at Sruinsar by the government tourism department. Manzoor Hussain, son of Din Mohammad of Sruinsar, alleged that the land was encroached by the department to construct a tourist dak bungalow about 36 years back. Though he tried to get the official record in this regard under RTI, he was told that there was no record available with them as some files were burnt in 2005, some were damaged in the 2014 floods. He filed the second appeal before SIC on May 16, 2016. He has prayed that complete information be provided to him about the land acquired by tourism department at Sruinsar. Namrita Dogra, Joint Director, Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, and Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad, Deputy Director/PIO, Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir attended hearing at the Srinagar office of the commission on June 16, 2016. Vikas Gupta, CEO, Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority/PIO, Darshan Kumar, Executive Engineer, Surinsar-Mansar Dev Authority, the appellant and his counsel also attended hearing through video conferencing from Jammu office of SIC. |
