City police organizes 'foot patrolling'

Jammu, Aug 11: Ahead of Independence Day and threat perception after letter threatening series of blasts in Jammu on I-Day received by a senior police officer and a national daily, the Station House Officer SHO (City) along with in-charge police post Hari Market and Residency Road today launched foot patrolling in old city areas to restore confidence among the city residents.
According to police spokesperson, the Inspector Shakti Sharma, SHO City, SI Sumeet Sharma, in-charge police post Hari Market, SI Sohit Trikha, in-charge Police Post Residency Road, SI Uttam along with nafri launched patrolling on foot in all areas of old city here today.
"Though tight security is in place, foot patrolling was launched by the city police in view of upcoming Independence Day and as precautionary measure and to give a sense of security among people.
"The patrolling team identified the vulnerable points in old city while also aware the shopkeepers to remain vigilant about any untoward incident, spokesperson added.
