Police yet to arrest alleged impersonator in 'rape case'

Jammu, Nov 19: Despite the lapse of 18 days of alleged gang rape case, Channi Himmat police has failed to arrest the alleged impersonator who allegedly filed a fake gang rape complaint against three persons in the same police station.
According to police sources the FIR was lodged after the Sub-Registrar Magistrate Jammu, Adnan Sayeed ordered registration of FIR in an 'impersonation case.'
Despite lodging of FIR, Police till date have failed to arrest the accused who also filed a rape compliant against three persons on the other day.
Sources further maintained even the complainant allegedly filed a rape complaint on fake identity.
"Sub Registrar Jammu, Adnan Sayeed on November 1, initiated contempt proceedings against Sajjad Haider, Station House Officer (SHO), Police Station, Channi Himmat, Jammu for non-compliance of Court order in an impersonation case and the SHO was summoned in person for not registering the FIR against a woman who lodged a rape complaint in Channi Police Station on 26-9-2016 allegedly with bogus identity," sources added
According to police sources, the complainant, Major Harnam Singh whose son Jatinder Singh has been allegedly implicated in a gang rape and an FIR has been registered against him on 26-9-2016 U/S 376/120-B RPC, filed a complaint under Section 156 (3) Cr.P.C before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu on 15-10-2016 for the registration of FIR against the above mentioned alleged rape complainant for changing her identity/names at different places to implicate the innocents.
Sources said that the rape complainant has filed case against the son of Major Harnam Singh and three others, wherein she disclosed her identity something different where as her names stand different in her Passport and an FIR that stands registered against her in Katra Police Station under Excise Act.
Meanwhile a case under FIR no 112 u/s 419 of RPC has been registered at Channi Himmat Police Station, sources added.
