Jammu, Nov 19: Rich tributes were paid to Smt. Indira Gandhi former Prime Minister of India, on her 100th Birth Day today in an impressive function at Indira Chowk, Jammu.
President JKPCC along with other senior functionaries of Pradesh Congress, Legislators, former Ministers & Legislators and leaders of Dist. Congress Jammu, block wards, frontal organizations including large number of Mahila workers paid floral tributes and garlanded her statue and offered flowers. The function was organized by the Dist. Congress Jammu led by President Anil Chopra. Children of Luthra School also offered floral tributes to former Prime Minister.
Addressing the gathering, PCC Chief paid floral tributes to Smt. Indira Gandhi and recalled her contribution in the freedom struggle, especially when entire top brass of Congress party were arrested in 1942 during 'Quit India Movement', she took upon the leadership of freedom movement.
The Ramban District Congress Commitee (Women Wing) led by its District President, Narinder Kour celebrated the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Indra Gandhi, today. On the occasion besides Narinder Kour, Lok Sabha Vice President Youth Congress, Rashid Malik, Congress Block President, Batote, Chuni Lal Goswami, senior Congress leaders Janak Singh, Darshan Chand, Zahida Katoch and Seema Devi offered their floral tributes to the former Prime Minister. Speaking on the occasion Narinder Kour threw light on her career and contribution in the progress of the nation.
Narinder also remembered her as the first lady Prime Minister of India who had left an indelible mark in the national and international politics as a towering states woman and leader. She remembered her for her boldness and for bringing the Green revolution, nationalisation of banks and the oil companies in India.
District Congress Committee Doda on Saturday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 100th birth anniversary here today at Bhaderwah . The function was presided over by MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta who is district President Doda Congress Committee .
While paying tributes to Late Indira Gandhi, MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta remembered her achievements and said that she was known as an iron lady for her dynamic qualities of leadership, farsightedness and statesmanship.

In a statement issued here, Dr Sharma remember the leadership of Gandhi for her bold and visionary decisions by which the country touch new heights namely the Green revolution , the war of 1971 in which the Pakistan was breaked in to two parts and taught lesson to Pakistan, white revolution (Milk production touch to new heights), the banking system reorganize and brought on new schedule for the betterment and economical stability and discipiline . Vice Chairman Kisan Khet Mazdoor Congress J&K PCC , Bharat Priye along with other activists today organized a programme on the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Indra Gandhi .
