Early Times Report

Rajouri, Nov 20: Youth Congress activists from Darhal constituency under the leadership of Basharat Rather , general secretary, Darhal Constituency lambasted the coalition government for neglecting the people of the constituency on all the fronts. While addressing the workers at Kotranka , Basharat said that the people of the area are ignored on every front. "Inhabitants of this constituency mostly belong to remote areas and they are facing acute shortage of ration, safe drinking water, shortage of electricity, lack of good road connectivity etc" said Basharat. He added that Rajouri-Budhal-Reasi road is life line of this constituency and it passes through mnajor towns of Darhal constituency. "The widening, black topping etc work on this road was taken in hands by the GREF in the year 2011. Even after a gap of five years the condition of this road remained the same and this road instead providing relief to the people has become death trap for them" said Shafiq Raj. Basharat added that many developmental projects were taken in hand in this constituency by the present and successive governments but no development can be seen on the ground. Most of the population in this constituency fall in Below Poverty Line (BPL) category and are very poor and can't afford ration purchasing from the open market. Many government schools in remote areas mostly remain closed as the area falls under winter zone and teachers instead caring for the future and academic standard of the poor student, remain on unauthorized absent for their personnel engagements. "Public is thirsty due to non-arability of safe drinking water, hungry as ration rarely available at government shops/depots and patients yearning for treatment in government hospitals as the staff mostly remain on unauthorized absent. But the Ministers from both the coalition partners are busy in raising their personnel assets" said Basharat Rather.
