YAC protest against unscheduled power cuts in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, Nov 22: Youth Action Committee today staged massive protest demonstration over unscheduled power cuts in whole Bhaderwah and disrupted vehicular traffic for half an hour in front of Takyia Chowk .
Early in the morning , large number of people assembled near Takyia Chowk and started protest demonstration against the Power Development Department for their failure to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the winter season when examinations of the students were going on .
"On one side, Power Development Department is increasing tariff and on the other side resorting to power cuts for hours together", Naseer Mehboob Padder President YAC said. "Despite repeated requests prior to start of winter season , the PDD has failed to ensure electricity supply even during the time of evening and morning ", he said.
Alleging that nobody was ready to listen to their problem, Rohit Sharma vice president said, "we have been left with no other option but to stage protest to bring out voice to the notice of administration", adding "despite making assurances the administration has failed to avoid load shedding".
Amidst slogans against the state government and Power department , the agitating people disrupted the vehicular movement for half an hour together. The protest demonstration came to end after the administration assured them to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply particular during morning and evening hours and also received a memorandum from them .
Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed secretary of the committee alleged that ever since PDP-BJP government formed the coalition government in the state, people are not being distributed ration as per the prescribed scale".
He said salaries and perks of legislators have been doubled by this government but poor are not even being paid adequate ration. He said government depots in the whole Bhaderwah are running dry as people have not been paid ration for the last more than three months.
"Women are finding it difficult to run their kitchen when they are getting only 600 grams of sugar per month for a family of 6 or say 8 members", he said.
Those who spoke on the occasion Raiz Ahmed Najar , Barkat Wani , Anoop Kumar , Neeraj Kumar , Kahlil Ahmed , Quyoom Bonjwai ,Mohd Ramzan Paray , Shoaib Beg , Rafyiat Ahmed and others .
