Bhopal, Nov 22: Hindi play 'Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai' written and directed by Balwant Thakur outshined at India's most prestigious cultural centre Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal in Jammu Kashmir Mahotsav being organised by Bharat Bharat, Ministry of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The young actors of Natrang mesmerised the learned audiences of Bhopal with their professional histrionics and highly energetic acting which received repeated applauds and thunderous cheers. A 45 member team of Natrang artists is here in Bhopal with two of its highly acclaimed plays 'Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai' and 'Ghumayee' to attend the closing ceremony of Jammu Kashmir Mahotsav which was inaugurated with the Santoor Recital by legendry musician Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Interestingly Natrang has huge cliental and fan followings in the entire Madhya Pradesh as people long for Natrang performances and eagerly wait for these two happen in central India. This was visible for the reason that Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal was over crowded by the fans of Natrang and people were seen standing in the auditorium as there was no seat left.
The play 'Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai', in a very sensitive manner deals with the hazards of population explosion and very subtly highlights every deplorable aspect of population explosion. The irony, which children have to live with, the obstacles they have to face, are brought out in an intrepid manner. Beginning with malnutrition inadequate food and clothing to seeking admissions in schools and overcrowded classes with no jobs and glaring shortcomings, practically every damaging result of over population is dealt with. The play warns one and all with imminent threat of disaster and destruction if this malady is not immediately arrested. The play ends with thought provoking questions by children, " Why we were brought into this world? Where is our share of sunlight?"
The children who performed brilliantly and won the hearts of Bhopal theatre lovers included Sanchita Dubey, Gopi Sharma, Sanyam Gupta, Shreya Gupta, Manya Gujral, Mihir Gujral, Agam Kaur, Asma Gul, Riya Jandial, Sanket Bhagat, Vedhant Suri, Sanya Gupta, Ananya Verma, Saanvi Anand, Rudra Kohli, Chander Pratap Singh Bhau and Saba Jamwal. A team of experts supported the children at the back stage included Neeraj Kant (Assistant Director), Anil Tickoo (Music), Mohd. Yaseen (Coordination), Suraj Ganjoo (Lights), Rakesh Kumar (Rhythm) and Aarushi Thakur (Stage Management).
