| E T story sends PDP Kishtwar unit into tizzy | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Nov 27: Early Times carrying a detailed news story about a Kishtwar unit of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) facing major crisis and its district chief, Firdous Tak, offering to resign has created ripples in the PDP circles.
In order to put a lid over the controversy the PDP spokesperson issued a press statement on Sunday claiming that "All is well" in the party.
It's in place to mention here that party leaders Mushtaq Ahmed Qazi and three other senior party leaders Raiz Ahmed Zargar, Noor Hussain Malik, and Ghulam Mohuiddin Sheikh alias Rahi Master resigned from the party over the complaint of disrespect from the party leadership of district unit Kishtwar headed by MLC Firdous Ahmed Tak and assisted by former district Youth President Congress Sheikh Nasir Hussain who was assigned the job of district coordinator after shifting his loyalty towards PDP.
While talking to "Early Times" former PDP District Secretary Kishtwar Suresh Kumar Sharma said that instead of issuing press statement and rebuttals, the party leadership including its spokesperson should concentrate on strengthening the party position in Kishtwar district, as its popularity is witnessing a decline with each passing day due to internal crisis within the party.
"I am testimony to the fact that whatever written in today's edition of ET is true.
The PDP spokesperson is trying to cover up the crisis within the party by issuing big statements," said Sharma.
He said that they are thankful to former MLC Syed Asgar Ali for showing keen interest in rejuvenating the party in Kishtwar added that the leaders at the helm of affairs instead of accepting its mistakes are hell bent to tarnish the party base in Kishtwar due to its poor policies and bad approach towards the senior party leaders.
"Instead of those people who are the basic and founder members, the migratory birds or lateral entries are taking shots in the party while the deserving party workers are being deliberately ignored at behest of the non entities" rued Suresh Sharma.
He said that during party convention at Dak Banglow Kishtwar, he along with other leaders from Kishtwar constituency were ignored and given no chance to express their views. "I am die hard core basic member of PDP--- Despite facing numerous threats and pressure from within the community--- I stick to the ideology of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed" said Sharma and showed his disappointment over the way he and other senior party leaders were ignored.
He said that it is high time for the party leadership to take damage control measures so that the debacle through which the party is undergoing could be preventers from further damage.
"Yes it is true that MLC Firdous Tak offered resignation during its close door party workers meeting--- but his resignation is not the solution--- we only want a dignity and a proper respect and place in the party" said Suresh Sharma.
He said that he would prefer to stay at home rather than shifting its loyalty towards any other party. He said that the main focus of yesterday party convention was towards Inderwal added that few party leaders are eying on party mandate from the said constituency added that he and other senior leaders didn't believe in planting the people for getting praised. We believe in practical implementation of the party agenda on ground level. |
