Early Times Report

Rajouri, Nov 27: Deputy Director, School Education after several complaints of irregularities, misappropriation of funds today paid a surprise visit to two middle schools at Kapa Kha and Dani Dhar in the vicinity of Rajouri town on Friday.
Two middle schools at these places just at a distance of less than 200 meters have been opened by the education department allegedly on the directions from the local politicians to adjust the blue eyed teachers-cum -political activists.
Reliable sources said that ,as per complaints lodged with higher authorities as well as with the Chief Minister Grievance cell, the teachers appointed at Kapa KHa middle school (from the same locality) are relatives and have shown fake enrollment to misappropriate Mid Day Meal (MDM), School, scholarship funds etc.
The actual enrollment in the school reportedly is below 15 but to misappropriate the funds the teachers have added the fake names of the students and while checking by the officials they bring students from the nearby private institutions
Sources said the middle school at Danhidhar is functioning since a long time while the middle school at Kapa Kha was opened to adjust blue eyed political activists-cum-teacher.
"Even during the surprise visit by the Deputy Director few children were present in the schools which belong to nursery & pre-nursery class" said the source.
He added that the middle school at Kapa Kha was upgraded to 8th class from 5th class by vilating all the rules/ regulations to adjust the political workers in shape of ReT teachers.
The enrollment shown in the school record is about 40 students while ,sources added, at the time of inspection by the Deputy Director about 15 students, maximum from nearby institutions, were physically present.
For actual strength of about 15 enrolled students , the department has appointed a headmaster and five teachers.
According to reliable sources during recent held T-1 examination only two students appeared in the exams from 6th to 8th class while 16 students appeared in primary section i.e from 1st to 5th class.
"The school management have deposited 27 answer sheets at government higher secondary school for checking which is a glaring example of mass mismanagement and misappropriation in the school and needed detailed investigation and inquiry" said Mohd Tariq, RTI activist who has approached the CM grievance cell for the investigation.
He added they are looking forward for the report which will be submitted by the Deputy Director after his visit to this school.
