DSS resents shifting of Archives to Kala Kendra

JAMMU, Nov 29: A meeting of Executive committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) was held at Dogra Bhawan under the Chairmanship of its president Th. Gulchain Singh Charak Former Minister. The members strongly resented the decision of shifting the Archives and other monuments from Mubarak Mandi. They felt that the appointed committee has not taken vital aspects in consideration and thus not applied full mind on this most important matter of the Dogra heritage. They further said that the Kala Kendra is not a suitable place for the Archives and other monuments due to various reasons. The president said that the Archives and museum is the soul of Mubarak Mandi complex and without which the historic complex will become lifeless. The Sabha expressed its deep concern on delay in removal of barriers in front of the Civil Secretariat on the road leading to Sh. Ranvireshwar and Raghunath temples form Dogra hall despite repeated appeals to the government.
Emphasizing importance of preserving the rich Dogra culture, the meeting decided to organize an exhibition in the complex of Dogra Sadar Sabha in near future. The exhibition will represent a holistic picture of various historic monuments falling in different parts of Jammu region. The Sabha emphasized the urgent need of maintaining its ancient, pristine, secular character wh ich is a living example of pluralistic society in the country. The Sabha also decided to hold a "Dogra Pagri Tying" Competition on 3rd of December, 2016 in the hall of Dogra Sadar Sabha. The president appealed to all Dogras especially youth to come forward and participate in the competition to be followed by a 'Preeti Bhoj'.
