Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 29: The honourable rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants has become a distant dream as successive State and Central governments have failed to take initiative in this regard over last two decades.
Despite claims made by successive governments putting the honourable and dignified return if over seven lakh Kashmiri Pandits on top of its agenda has failed to give practical shape to its policy.
Sources said the failure of Government to take an initiative in this regard has been a cause of concern for displaced Pandits who are leading an exiled life for last 27 years.
The Kashmiri migrants who belong to minority Community see their future totally as bleak as Government has no concrete policy for their return and rehabilitation in Valley their motherland. The Kashmiri migrants are totally aghast over the role of the Union as well as State Governments for whom the hapless people are no priority. The Kashmiri migrants who are perturbed over the Government role alleged that all successive governments showed more concern for welfare of separatists and surrendered militants have totally ignored the nationalist people who have played a great role in enrichment of Indian aesthetics.
The Pandits of Kashmir who are leading an exiled life in their own country have no place to call their own homeland. They see future of their coming generations totally bleak after being hounded out from Valley in 1989_90.
Their land has been grabbed by mafia groups , the houses have been set ablaze and orchards and the trees cut by anti social elements who have also created barriers for their honourable return.
The Government which announced 6000 jobs for them in 2008 has failed to fill up them and out of 6000 jobs only 2200 posts were filled up in last eight years which reveals Government's seriousness about the welfare of community said Desh Rattan Pandita president All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC).
