NABARD organises workshop for SHG, JLG members

Poonch, Dec 1: The District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri/Poonch organised a workshop for Group Leaders of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Joint liability Groups (JLGs) at Dak Bunglow, Nowshera.
The objective of the workshop was to train the SHG group leaders in maintaining the books of accounts and their capacity building in for functioning of the Self Help Groups.
These groups are promoted by CMC-Santhom Social Service Society, Nowshera with the financial assistance of NABARD.
The workshop was attended by Anoop Bhat, Lead District Manager, Rajouri, Rajeshwar Singh, Branch Manager, J&K Bank, Nowshera, Officials from the Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd, Nowshera. Sr. Ane Joe, Secretary, CMC-Santhom Social Service Society, Nowshera, field staff of the society and Group leaders of SHGs/JLGs from Nowshera block.
Des Raj District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri/Poonch explained the functioning of SHGs and books to be maintained by the SHGs. The participants were also explained how the SHGs/JLGs are a tool of their development.
The participants were explained to make a habit of saving and become a member of SHG. He handled the sessions of SHGs formation, books to be maintained by the SHGs, saving and credit linking of SHGs with the banks.
Anoop Bhat, speaking on the occasion motivated the SHG members for internal lending. He also held detailed discussions with the SHG members and informed them to take a economic activity for which bank will provide the credit facilities to them.
Rajeshwar Singh in his address shared the experience gained in saving linking and credit linking of SHGs and JLGs with the bank.
Sr. Ane Joe informed that their society has formed 84 SHGs in Nowshera block with financial assistance of NABARD. These groups have been linked with the banks. The Group leaders of SHGs also shared their experiences with the formation of SHGs.
