Pay SHO for any illegal act in hotels

Jammu, Dec 1: The SHO of a police station in the winter capital city is nowadays alleged to have attained notoriety for allowing hotliers to do all sorts of illegal activities in their business establishments in lieu of the huge bribe money he has been getting from them every month.
In Jammu district police circles, he is termed as the blue-eyed of many senior police officers. These officers had got him posted at an important police station in the winter capital city, police sources said.
Soon after his posting here as SHO, he got tough with the hotliers in his jurisdiction, sending them a clear message that no unlawful activity would be tolerated in their business concerns. This continued for about a month, after which he allegedly arrived at a tactik understanding with them and struck a deal.
"As per this deal, the hotliers are to pay him a handsome bribe money every month. In lieu of it, he has promised them not to ever raid their hotels," sources alleged, saying that 'all the hotliers are not allowed to visit him to pay him his monthly share of proceeds. One of them makes collections and then pays the whole money to the SHO after deducting his share'.
With police turning a blind eye to the alleged unlawful activities in these hotels, their business had increased considerably. These hotels are infamous for all types of unlawful acts. "Complaints of prostitution rackets operational in the area also keep on pouring in," sources alleged.
"Whenever there is an alert in the city, he alerts hotliers through agents. He has assured the hotliers that he himself will not to come to their premises for checking, but if seniors carry out a raid, he should not be held responsible for it," sources said.
The SHO was also alleged to be taking the assistance of a 'karyakhas' to fix deals with the hotliers and enhance the monthly bribe money, sources alleged.
