Early Times Report

Kathua, Dec 1: Arrest of lecturer of Degree College Bani from the hilly area of Kathua district has once again established the fact that fear among anti-national forces have been disappeared after formation of coalition government in J&K in which "ultra nationalist" BJP is equal partner. Anti-national forces in Jammu region have realized that so-called nationalist ministers in the BJP are weak enough to give directions to the administrations so they are taking advantage of the situation. It is really a matter of concern that one contractual lecturer, who teaches History in Government Degree College, Bani-which is stronghold of nationalist BJP, has allegedly dared to pass insulting remarks against soldiers who had lost their lives while fighting with terrorists during Nagrota encounter on Tuesday. Fearlessness among anti-national forces in Jammu can be judged from the fact that the anti-national lecturer has alleged threatened students and other teaching staff of the Degree College with a warning that those who will call soldiers as martyrs would be taught a lesson in future. Degree College Bani's incident is presenting a very dangerous picture in Jammu province and reflects that anti-national elements have managed to infiltrate into important sector like Education.
Credible sources said that it was not the first time that the lecturer has spitted venom against the Army. He used to speak against India openly without any fear because he was very much aware that college authorities could not dare to take action against them due to his affiliations in Kashmir. It was only due to protest by the students that police arrested him.
As reported in media students of Bani held demonstration on Wednesday, demanding action against a contractual lecturer of Hisotry, Shannawaz for passing insulting remarks against Indian Army and for describing the terrorists, who attacked the Nagrota Army as martyrs while delivering a lecture in the class.
The students had given one day ultimatum to police in registering FIR and taking action as warranted under law against him failing which they will launch a massive movement in the area. The students have also taken serious exception to the behavior of the lecturer in the college during other routine affairs especially during the singing of national anthem and said that he was trying to sow the seeds of fragmented the two communities living in complete peace and harmony in the area for decades together.
