Raising slogans in support of their demands, the protestors urged the authorities to implement the policy under which physical education should be made compulsory in all middle, high schools and higher secondary schools in the state. As per the association, at least 7000 schools out of 8000 (approx) middle schools in the state do not have any sanctioned post of physical education teacher. They lamented that many of trained PeT youth are already nearing the upper age limit bar and we demand that the scheme should be implemented before we lose our hope in the livelihood promised to us," said chief spokesperson and advisor JKUPESA Firdous Hussain. General sectary of JKUPESA Showkat Khan said that there are nearly 8000 youth waiting for their posting under Rehbar-e-Khel (ReK) and said that in July 2015 the government had assured scheme will be implemented soon in the state but till date nothing had been done. The protestors have requested chief minister to intervene in this matter and implement Rehbar e Khel in state to save future of near about 8000 trained youth of state. |
