Electronic surveillance system to be set-up all along Indo-Pak border: Amit Shah | Visits Vinay Post in Kathua, lauds BSF jawans for their efforts, dedication | | Early Times Report
Vinay Post (Indo-Pak Border), Apr 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that an electronic surveillance system would be set up along the Indo-Pak border within three to four years to counter the nefarious designs of the enemy through advanced technology.
Addressing BSF troops at Vinay Post on the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, Shah said that the government would establish two model electronic surveillance systems along the border.
“After the installation of these systems, the BSF will be able to receive accurate information and respond swiftly to any movement along the border with the help of technology,” he said. “BSF personnel will also be equipped with advanced tools to detect and destroy cross-border tunnels.”
“Within three to four years, this electronic surveillance system will be fully implemented on the Indo-Pak border,” he reiterated.
He added that similar systems would later be extended to the Indo-Bangladesh border, marking a significant step toward modernizing India’s border security infrastructure.

NEW DELHI, Apr 7: The Government on Monday hiked excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per litre each but there will be no change in retail prices as the increase will be adjusted against the price cut that was warranted because of falling international oil prices.
The excise duty on petrol was hiked to Rs 13 per litre and that on diesel to Rs 10 a litre, an official order showed.
