Jammu, Apr 7: MLA Poonch, Ajaz Jan on Monday opposed the recently passed Waqf Board Bill by the Government of India.
He described the bill as a “direct assault on the constitutional rights and religious freedom of the Muslim community.”
Jan demanded that the House should hold a thorough discussion on the matter. “The bill centralizes control over Waqf properties, weakens community representation, and threatens the autonomy of religious institutions,” the MLA said.
He urged all lawmakers to stand against this “unjust” legislation and called for its immediate review. |
