ReT regularization against regular posts irks teachers | `May jeopardize their future prospects' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 17: The decision of State Administrative Council (SAC) to adjust Rehbar-e-Talim teachers against regular posts of the teachers, has not gone down well among regular teachers, who are apprehensive of their future prospects. Regular teachers informed Early Times that the decision of State Administration Council to adjust the Rehbar-e-Talim teachers against the regular posts of teachers would not only jeopardize the future prospects of the unemployed youth but also the regular teachers. "Once these ReT teachers will be adjusted against the regular posts, they will come under the category of General Line teachers and they will also seek benefit of their seniority in the promotions", a teacher said, adding that even if they would not get the benefit from the government, they would knock the door of the court and get the benefit. The teachers said that several thousands of ReT teachers would become senior to general line teachers, who have joined the department few years back. "We have qualified the entrance tests and joined the department after going through a tough screening process but these ReTs have been engaged by a Panchayat committee without any entrance", the teacher said, adding that how these teachers, who had not qualified any of the entrance test could be treated equal by the government. The teachers further said that one motive of the ReT scheme was to provide teachers in far-flung areas of the hilly state. "The ReTs were engaged against non-transferable posts but once they would become general line teachers, they will also sought transfers to the city areas and the scarcity of teachers in the far flung areas will against arise", the teachers said. They further said, "None of the regular teacher is against the regularization of ReT teachers but they should be regularized against some other posts and not against the posts of regular and general line teachers. One must not be benefited at the cost of unemployed youth or the general line teachers". | |
