DC Kishtwar directs revenue officials, ICP Officer to reach out victim families

15 FIRs registered against transporters for overloading, traffic violations

Kishtwar, July 7: After deadly Keshwan road accident in which three dozen people lost their lives, police launched a major creakdown against traffic violators including those vehicle owners and drivers who were found involved in overloading.
As per the details available with "Early Times", in order to curb the menace of overloading, police launched special drie and registered 15 FIRs U/S 336 RPC for overloading and endangering lives of others on Saturday while two more FIRs were registered today in different parts of the District till noon.
Speaking to "Early Times" senior police officials said that SSP Shakti Kumar Pathak has issued directions to all the SHOs, Incharge Police Posts to ensure that action under law is taken against those violating traffic norms especially endangering human lives. He said that the process for cancelation of driving licenses of the violators has been started by forwarding the same to ARTO Kishtwar.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana had also directed the ARTO Kishtwar to cancel the driving licenses of the violators beside also called for cancelation of route permits of the vehicles found involved in over loading.
The DC issued strict warning to the transport officials against issuing fitness certificates to the unfit vehicles and told the officials that they should personally be responsible for such act if anyone found to be involved in such act.
The DC also made a desperate appeal to the people not to board overloading vehicle beside also requested the people to prevent the driver from using mobile phones added that in case any driver did not listen and continue to use mobile phone while driving, people had been requested to inform the nearby police post or at the next nakka or call the police or concern Naib Tehsildars or Tehsildars or any other District officials or to senior police officials.
He said that prevention is better option to avoid major tragedies like Keshwan road accident in which the human loss was beyond imagination.
Meanwhile DC Kishtwar instructed the revenue officials including Tehsildar concern, SHO concern and officials in relief section to complete the required formalities in days so that the compensation could be distributed to the Keshwan accident victims.
He also issued directions to Integrated Child Protection Officer Kishtwar to prepare the cases of the children's of Keshwan accident victims who left orphan in this tragic accident so that necessary help in terms of stiffen and ensuring their education will be taken care off.
