According to sources the Punjab unit of the Party has failed to take steps in up keeping the statue and its surronding area at Madhapur.
The BJP unit of Punjab held a function at Madhavpur on 119th birth anniversary of late leader. But the entire area is in a bad condition with filth and garbage lying in its surroundings.
The BJP which claims Dr Mukherjee was tallest leader of country and whose struggle and sacrifice brought the party to power after 60 years is terming him champion of the nationalist cause and is using his name to seek votes has failed to maintain the statue of Dr Mukherjee at Madhavpur which was installed by former BJP leader L K Advani over a decade back.
The party' s failure to maintain the Madhavpur statue of Dr Mukherjee has been viewed seriously by partymen while insttalling the statue of great son of India at Lakhanpur.
